The International Graphic Arts Education Association holds 79th annual conference at the University of Houston

The International Graphic Arts Education Association will hold its 79th annual conference July 11ö16, 2004 at the University of Houston central campus. Dr. Waite, coordinator of the Graphic Communications Technology program at the University of Houston, served as president of the organization from 2002-2003. To get an idea of what the University of Houston-sponsored conference will resemble, please visit the IGAEA website at www.igaea.org. On that site, you can read about the itinerary for the 2003 conference, being held at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Scheduled activities for this yearâs IGAEA conference include vendor exhibitions, tours of area printing industry companies, and the annual IGAEA business meeting. For students of the Graphic Communications Technology program at the University of Houston, next yearâs conference will provide a unique opportunity to increase their familiarity with the variety of printing operations in the greater Houston area, as well as network with leaders in the industry, which will aid them in finding employment after college. The conference will also educate our peers in the College of Technology as well as the UH community in general about the dynamic GCT program, and hopefully encourage more students to consider a major or minor in graphic technology. Information about the UH conference will be available beginning in June of 2003 at http://igaea.tech.uh.edu. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this extraordinary event, which is truly one of a kind!
