Ella O'Neal

Ella O'Neal is the lab assistant for the Graphic Communications Technology Program in the University of Houston's College of Technology. Ms. O'Neal has been involved in the printing and publishing industry as a graphic designer since 1996. She went into the field looking for a way to make a living doing what she loves the most, art. Now, she is enjoying using her technical skills, managing the program's Macintosh Computer Lab, her artistic skills creating designs for the Information and Logistics Technology departments marketing materials and her newly developing mentoring and instructing skills helping the program’s students with their assignments.

Ms. O'Neal earned a B.S. in Psychology at Texas A & M in 1983 and in 1994, she enrolled in the Art Institute of Houston to study Visual Communications and earn an A.A degree. She has worked at a wide variety of companies as a graphic designer before landing at the University of Houston and is now determined never to leave academia.

Ms. O'Neal will be attending the College of Technology's graduate program in Human Resource Development this fall, after which she hopes to teach at the university or junior college level.

A native Houstonian, Ms. O'Neal is still pursuing painting part-time and taking occasional classes at the Glassell School of Art. She has recently begun studying the techniques of landscape painting.
